Etko Ltd with a tradition and skill in wine making since 1844, is the oldest wine manufacturer in Cyprus. It now is a public company and has become nowadays a highly organised wine industry. For improving the quality of wines and to cope fully with its export markets, ETKO is adequate...morely equipped with the most modern and up-to-date plants and equipment, including a fully automatic bottling line, pasteurization and refrigeration plants, as well as the largest distillery in the island. The present intake capacity of the Winery is approximately 30 million kilos of grapes per harvest, while its crushing capacity is 1 million kilos of grapes per day. The storage capacity in cement, stainless steel tanks, oak vats and glass is about 38 million litres of wine. The company is also carrying out research and experiments for the production of new table wines and for this purpose has planted its own vineyards with new varieties of grapes at Zanatzia region, in the same fields as the original vineyards of the company. Our wines have won international recognition and appreciation by winning several gold medals and awards at International Competitions and Fairs. ETKO has also won the 1983 Cyprus Award for Export, which is given by the Cyprus Government to firms for their contribution towards exports. Etko is known as the makers of EMVA Cream, the most popular and best selling Cyprus fortified wine in the U.K. The products of the company are being successfully exported U.K., Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Australia, U.S.A., Japan, Nigeria, etc.
